Next pick which we want to share with you is going to be from WTA, Roland Garros, Quarterfinals between Garbine Muguruza and Maria Sharapova. After yesterday's events in which Muguruza and Sharapova participated in that were won by walkover, actually, we expect to see an aggressive and energy tennis on the court.

The #RussianAce was able to advance to her 1st Grand Slam Quarterfinal since the 2016 WTA Australian Open. #Maria #Sharapova is coming off her best performance in quite some time in which she bullied Karolína Pliskova in straight-sets, and you would have loved to see her build on such a performance, but the rest certainly cannot hurt the 31-year-old. Sharapova has won 10 of the previous 11 Grand Slam Quarterfinal encounters. Moreover, she looks to reach her 1st Grand Slam semifinal since 2015 #WTA Wimbledon. Maria has won 11 of the previous 13 appearances on a clay court.

The Spanish hope is coming off a victory against Lesia Tsurenko that took two games to decide before retiring. She won 80% of her 1st serve points and 100% of her 2nd serve points, moreover, she has now played just 16 games in her last two games combined, so she should be possibly the freshet player remaining in the tournament. Garbine has been playing some of her best tennis. The Spaniard Ace to make her 4th career Grand Slam semifinal appearance and 2nd in the Roland Garros. Furthermore, she is 3 - 3 in her career in Grand Slam Quarterfinal appearances, while has won 6 of her last 8 games on a clay court.

Sharapova has already raped up her qualification to the next round of the Masters Cup after winning her first 2 clashes against Radwanska and Halep, so we expect her to shift down the gear today. Flavia Pennetta needs this win a lot more than the Russian, as in case of defeat, that would be the last match of her career as she has announced her retirement after the tournament. The Italian lost the first match against Halep with 6-0, 6-3 but managed to bounce back with a straight set win against Radwanska, so today’s duel will be crucial for her. Also in all of their 5 head-to-head meetings there were 3 sets played, so we think that the games line is very low not to take it with a full stake.

Today we’re going in a search for another great clash that should not end in 2 sets. Our yesterday’s prediction came short with just 1 game thanks to the amazing performance of Angelique Kerber in the first set, where she left no chance for Kvitova. However, we switch to the match between Simona Halep and Maria Sharapova, where Halep will seek her first win over the Russian. Their last 3 head-to-head matches were 3 setters, but Sharapova always managed to seal the deal. However, she was rusty against Radwanska, and hit 12 double faults and more than 50 unforced errors. It was enough against Agnieszka but Halep has more dangerous attacking game, she doesn't have to wait Maria’s errors, she can finish points. Therefore, we see an easy over here.

In this Masters Cup WTA, indoors, Radwanska will be looking to finally take a win over her Russian rival. The current head-to-head shows 12-2 in favour of Sharapova, however she’s out of form at the moment, having lost 2 in a row against Serena Williams and a walkover in the 3rd set against Barbora Strycova. Sharapova has been out of the courts for a month and her fitness is questionable, while Radwanska just won the final of Tianjin, hard with simple 6-1, 6-2 over Danka Kovinic. We expect the Polish player to win this match but as a first choice, we take the games spread.

Round 2 match from the Wuhan, hard, sees Barbora Strycova vs Maria Sharapova. The Czech is coming on the back of a win against Babos with 7-6, 6-2, however her overall form is very patchy. At US Open, Barbora reached the 3rd round, where she was defeated by Lisicky with 2-1 sets and we think that she won’t stand a chance against Sharapova today. Furthermore, Strycova is really not a hard court player, with very average 15/12 for the season and 133/115 in total. Meanwhile, Sharapova has been out of play since Wimbledon, where she lost at the semifinal against Serena Williams with 6-2, 6-4. So nearly 3 month absence due to tight injury, that however was not officially confirmed, might be crucial for the world number 3 in the WTA rankings, so it all depends on her fitness today. With 15/4 record on hard for the season, 306/77 in total, Sharapova is the definite favorite, so we back her up to win in under 20 games.

Analysis
Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova are crossing their paths once again, this time at the semifinal clash of Wimbledon. This is the 20th encounter between them, with Williams holding 17-2 record against the world’s number 4 in the WTA rankings. The American won with 2-1 to Azarenka yesterday, winning us a few bucks, as we correctly predicted a match over 22 games. Meanwhile, Sharapova won with 2-1 against Vandeweghe, where the American show a tough fight in the second set winning with tie break. Unfortunately for one of those amazing players, one of them will not reach the final and most likely that will be Sharapova, as Williams is basically unstoppable. However, we hope that the Russian will manage to pull it off and at least cover the game’s line, because it’s obvious that she’s in a good form and very determined. Both of them hold 5/0 on grass for the year and also identical overall ratio with Williams having 86/12, while Sharapova holds 82/17 on grass. The only title that Sharapova has ever won at Wimbledon, was in 2004 defeating exactly Williams, so we hope to see a grand match that will respond to the standards of the oldest and most prestigious tournament in the world.

Analysis
Sharapova is on the quarter finals of Wimbledon for the first time in the past 3 years and she looks determined and highly concentrated to get to the finals and possibly win Wimbledon for the second time in her career. She had considerably easy draw by far, defeating players outside top 30 such as Diyas and Begu. All of her 4 wins were in straight sets without a single tie break which is expected from a player of her high class. Meanwhile, Vandeweghe is one of the pleasant surprises of this year’s Wimbledon, reaching thus far by defeating Safarova with 7-6, 7-6 yesterday and other tough players such as Pliskova and Stosur. Speaking of determination, the American is the pure example, overcoming all odds and reaching the highest ever in her career at Wimbledon. Both players have never encountered before, and we expect to see an interesting duel here and we expect that Sharapova will be just too much for Vandeweghe.

Here it is, the Australian Open 2015 final is upon us and the world number 1 Serena Williams will face the WTA number 2 - Maria Sharapova. Both players had a relative easy campaign and apart from the little scare Sharapova got against Panova in the 2nd round, she has been outstanding. On the other hand, Serena also had little trouble getting here, but what's worrying is her cold. She's been battling it throughout the whole week and even though it didn't cost her against 19 years old Madison Keys on the 1/2 final, she could struggle today. The head-to-head statistic is absolutely in Serena's favor 16-2, but Sharapova seems very determined this year and we expect a tough game for the American. This is why we would prefer to back the Russian to win at least one set.

It is just one step left to the much desired final at the Australian Open for Maria Sharapova and this step is called Ekaterina Makarova. The two Russians will have to determine who will have a shot at the title this season.Sharapova had a problem on in the 2nd round against another fellow Russian - Alexandra Panova, where she actually has to count herself lucky to proceeding. But after that it has been an easy ride for the world number 2. In the 1/4 final she easily overcame 7th seed Eugenie Bouchard.Makarova, number 10 in the WTA, should also be congratulated for her concentration and determination. She is yet to lose a set in the tournament, which should give her a confidence boost tonight. The two fellow countrywomen have met 5 times so far, and all games were won by Sharapova. Maria looks very solid after the slip she made against Panova and even though her opponent will definitely give her best, we will side with Masha to win this one in straight sets.
